In 1969, St. Pope Paul VI began the custom of blessing the statuettes of the Infant Jesus that would be used in the manger scenes set up at home. We invite you, especially our children, to bring your “Gesu Bambino” to the 11:00 am Mass on December 15 to be blessed as we bring this delightful tradition to our parish.

Starting on the weekend of December 1, 2024, the Church will be celebrating the season of Advent, a time to anticipate the birth of Christ, the Light of the World. Our parish will continue its tradition of inviting families to carry the lighted Advent candle in procession at the beginning of each week-end Mass. Our Lady of Sorrows School is partnering with A&M for our Thanksgiving fundraiser, and is offering a variety of cakes, pies, cheesecakes, rolls, and donuts to compliment your Thanksgiving dinner. Please take home a flyer, or pick one up at the school office.
The Children's Liturgy of the Word will be offered at the 11:00 AM Mass at Our Lady of Sorrows Church on November 17, and December 8 & 15. Children in grades K - 4 are invited to join us as we hear God's Word and respond to the Good News of the Gospel.
This Thursday, officials of our Diocesan Office of Catholic Schools will visit our school. Along with Mrs. Maureen Tuohy, faculty, and staff, I offer the diocesan team a heartfelt welcome. We look forward to sharing with them the many positive aspects of our spiritual and academic program.
On October 4, the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi, the annual Blessing of the Pets was held in the OLS-SA pollinator garden in front of the OLS School, now named Mary's Meadow of Grace. The garden received a Monarch Waystation certification from Monarch Watch (monarchwatch.org) for providing habitat for Monarchs. Click here for photos and more information.

The Parish would like to congratulate Matthew Evans who has achieved Academic Honors at Holy Ghost Preparatory School for the second semester of the 2023-2024 School Year.
We thank all those who generously contribute to our school tuition assistance fund throughout the year, over and above their weekly giving. This fund provides the help families need to provide a Catholic education to their children. This year, $12,000 in assistance was provided to seven families.
