Planned Parenthood has publicly stated that their clinics will remain open during the COVID-19 crisis: “It is important that patients do not postpone necessary health care, especially abortion services.” But pregnancy is almost never life-threatening, and in those rare cases when it may be a threat to life, abortion is too slow a solution. So it is never medically necessary for a woman to have an abortion, and abortion can, in fact, seriously harm the woman (not to mention the child).
