We are looking for 1 or 2 volunteers to assist with pick up from OLS and deliver to St. Raphael’s Food Pantry 1 to 2 times per month. If interested please call the Parish Office at 609-587-4372

Feeding the hungry never ceases to be important. Food pantries always need staples such as peanut butter, jelly, cereal, soup, pasta, pasta sauce, and canned vegetables, but any nonperishables you can donate to Mt Carmel Guild or St Raphael’s Food Pantry are greatly appreciated. Just place them in the receptacles at the doors of our churches.

Did you know that the Catholic Church has two main organizations in the United States that respond to people in need? The mission of Catholic Relief Services is to assist the poor and vulnerable overseas, while Catholic Charities USA provides service to people in need in the United States. Inauguration Day falls on the birthday of Martin Luther King, Jr., advocate for social justice, assassinated in 1968 at the age of thirty nine. His preaching and peaceful activism helped our nation turn away from racism and violence. As we honor his witness, let us pray that within our nation and throughout the world, every division may be removed, and that justice, equality and peace may flourish.

Last year with the support of local donations, the Hamilton Knights of Columbus distributed over 500 brand new coats to the needy children in Hamilton Township and the surrounding areas. With your support we hope to double our efforts this year. Click here to find out how you can help!

Can you spare just a few hours out of one day to serve Jesus? Our Lady of Sorrows - St. Anthony parish will be hosting the Loaves and Fishes meals on Saturday, June 29, and we really need volunteers to serve at the Cathedral! Help the Cohort support the Interfaith Caregivers’ Walk for Wellness on June 1. We'll be having a friendly competition with the other parishes in our Cohort, so please, come out to support our parish, and of course, Caring Hearts, the Interfaith Caregivers group in our parish. April is Volunteer Recognition Month. Thank you to all who offer our parish and ministries their time and talents!

Deacon Richard Ferreira, Director of Community Support for Mount Carmel Guild, sent OLS-SA parishioners a note of gratitude for their generous donations during Thanksgiving time. Over 853 households—2,753 adults, seniors, and children—were served.

The Knights of Columbus Hamilton Council #6213 would like to give thanks to all of the parishioners from Our Lady of Sorrows – Saint Anthony Parish who supported our program. With your generous donations, we were able to distribute 48 cases of coats to several local organizations and schools. Click here for more information.

During December, 171.5 hours of service were provided by 31 volunteers to 29 persons. Caring Hearts volunteers provide non-medical services to our homebound elderly and disabled neighbors. If you would like more information on joining this satisfying ministry, either as a caregiver or a care receiver, please contact Anne (586-6596; [email protected]).

The Office for Persons with Disabilities and the Office for the New Evangelization present a workshop for parish leaders, family members, and friends, on Supporting Those with Mental Health Struggles. The workshop will be held on Saturday, January 27, 2024, from 9:15 AM to 2:30 PM, at the St. Cecilia Parish Auditorium in Philadelphia. Click here for more details.

As we prepare for the great holiday of Christmas, please remember those in our community who may be hungry--drop off some non-perishable food in unbreakable containers for Mount Carmel Guild and The Food Pantry Partnership at St. Raphael's. Please place your donations for Mount Carmel Guild and St Raphael’s Food Pantry in the receptacles at the doors of our churches.
