Please pray the Rosary daily, not only in May, but always! Although we honor Our Blessed Mother especially in May and October, our world today needs her more than ever. Our May Crowning will take place on May 29 at the 11 am Mass.
Mary’s prayer is her constant gift to us. She does not ask the Redeemer for anything opposed to the reign of God and therefore opposed to our best interests.

Since December 8, 2019, is the Second Sunday of Advent, the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary is transferred to Monday, December 9, 2019. The obligation to attend Mass, however, does not transfer. In any event, Catholics are encouraged to attend Mass to honor Mary Immaculate, Patroness of the United States.
Thursday, August 22 is the Feast of the Queenship of Mary. Venerable Pius XII established this feast in 1954. The dogma of the Assumption, which we celebrated last week, leads in a natural way to the Feast of Mary’s Queenship. Please join us on Saturday, May 7, at our parish's annual May Crowning. Following the 11:00 AM Mass, at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, we will process to the Shrine of Our Blessed Mother in front of our school. All First Communicants are invited to participate, in their First Communion attire. Please let your teacher know if you plan to join us. We look forward to seeing all First Communicants, their families, and all parishioners.
Monday, August 15, is the Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, a feast that came to be celebrated as early as the fifth century. It is the patronal feast of our own Diocese. Usually it is celebrated as a holy day of obligation. However, according to recent norms approved by the bishops of our country, since it falls on a Monday, the obligation to attend Mass is abrogated (rescinded). Nevertheless, love for our Blessed Mother should spur us to honor her in our daily prayers and our attendance at Mass in any event. We shall follow the weekday schedule (7:00 and 8:00 AM).
