The IV World Day for Grandparents and the Elderly will be celebrated on Sunday, 28 July 2024. The theme chosen by the Holy Father – “Do not cast me off in my old age” (cf. Psalm 71:9) – is meant to call attention to the fact that, sadly, loneliness is the bitter lot in life of many elderly persons, so often the victims of the throw-away culture. The final session of the summer series will be on Tuesday, August 6 at 7pm in the Church Meeting Room. Weekly session will resume on Tuesday September 10 at 7pm.

Deacon Alan Bridges concludes his summer assignment in our parish this weekend. He will soon return to Mount Saint Mary’s Seminary, Emmitsburg, MD to complete his final year of theological studies in preparation for Ordination to the Sacred Priesthood. We offer our thanks to Deacon Alan for giving so much of himself to us over these weeks, and we hope that he will return to us when the seminary is in recess for holidays during the academic year.

The Parish would like to congratulate Matthew Evans who has achieved Academic Honors at Holy Ghost Preparatory School for the second semester of the 2023-2024 School Year.
We thank all those who generously contribute to our school tuition assistance fund throughout the year, over and above their weekly giving. This fund provides the help families need to provide a Catholic education to their children. This year, $12,000 in assistance was provided to seven families.
