Congratulations are in order...next weekend (July 6), Fr. Brian Woodrow will become the pastor at St. John's (Allentown). The Sunday Latin Masses will continue at St. Anthony's for a while, but they will move from 12:15 to 12:30 pm.

During the summer months, when life becomes more casual than usual, I encourage everyone to be attentive to their attire for Mass. It is a way of witnessing our belief that at Mass, a formal act of worship, we encounter the Lord. While the Lord certainly knows the intentions of the heart, we should be concerned with the message our appearance conveys to our fellow parishioners and guests.
Monday night Bible Study will be in recess during the summer and will resume in September. Watch for a bulletin announcement of the September start date.
In a few days all parishioners should receive a letter introducing our 2013 Summer Project. Summer is the time when we try make many repairs and improvements to our parish campuses. This year our Summer Project is rather ambitious in making long term enhancements to both our campuses. I hope, considering the case made in the letter, you will wholeheartedly support the two initiatives.
Father Michael Manning, pastor of Holy Cross Parish in Rumson and licensed medical doctor, will speak on end-of-life issues and our Catholic faith on Thursday, June 27, at 1:00 pm at Visitation Church (755 Mantoloking Rd, Brick Town). The presentation will be held in the auditorium (handicapped accessible with elevator) beneath the church.
On Sunday, October 6, Bishop O'Connell will extend his Episcopal blessing to couples from all four counties married 50 years or more, couples married 25 years, and couples married for one year, at a special Eucharistic liturgy and blessing celebration at 3:00 pm at the Cathedral of St. Mary in Trenton. After nearly 9 years of service to our parish, we must bid farewell to our parish secretary, Doreen Griffin Galway, who will be taking a position in the Diocesan Office of Catechesis & Evangelization, effective June 10.
Our new parish secretary will be Mrs. Doris Cordero. We offer her our good wishes as she takes up her duties. Please make her feel welcome!
