Jesus nourishes us in the sacrament of the Holy Eucharist. We absolutely need him in order to have life. His teaching is clear and unmistakable. “If you do not eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his body, you have no life in you…for my flesh is real food and my blood real drink.” (Jn 6: 53,55) When we receive Jesus in this sacrament, we abide in him and he in us. This is of crucial importance if we want to produce lasting fruit in the apostolate, in our mission for Christ.
