The Blessing of Pets

This custom, conducted in remembrance of St. Francis of Assisi's love for all creatures, will take place in our parish at 6:00 PM on Wednesday, October 4 (Rain date: October 5).

All parishioners are invited to bring their pets to the Peace Garden at Our Lady of Sorrows (outside, to the left of the Lower Church Hall doors) for this special blessing.

As Fr. Kevin E. Macklin, O.F.M., expressed, "The love we give to a pet, and receive from a pet, can draw us into the larger circle of life, into the wonder of our common relationship to our creator."
