Last weekend our attendance and collection "took a great hit" due to the snow storm. Those who did make their way to Mass, ever so cautiously, were treated to a viewing of the Annual Catholic Appeal video. The three-minute message outlined the important ministries a gift to the appeal would help: Catholic Education, Seminary Formation, assistance to the poor, and youth and family services. Our goal remains the same as in the past—$110,000.
Reaching the goal through your gifts and pledges brings our parish a share in the funds raised. This is close to $15,000 for our own needs. The more to surpass the goal, the greater the parish "rebate." In past years, we have come very close to this goal with the help and generosity of a small percentage of our parishioners. Imagine how successful we would be if every parishioner participated!
Let's do this!
Most parishioners will have received an appeal card through the mail. Won't you give this request prayerful consideration and make a generous gift according to your meanns? If you have not received the card through the mail, you can also find them at the doors of our churrches. You could also drop your gift in the Sunday collection basket, clearly marking the envelope, "Annual Catholic Appeal."
