A debt of gratitude goes out to Pat Potavin, who directs our parish's Handbell Choir, for the pivotal role she played in facilitating the Campanelli Handbell Ensemble Concert in Our Lady of Sorrows Church last Sunday evening.
Pat is a longtime friend of award-winning composer and fellow Hamiltonian Susan T. Nelson. The church rang with applause as attendees showed their appreciation for the ensemble's beautiful renditions of Nelson's compositions, which were featured in Sunday's concert by the ensemble from Tallinn, Estonia. Area musicians, including a clarinetist, vocalist, flautist, and trumpeters, among others, added their talents to those of the ringers.
The concert was videotaped for a sequel to a documentary about the 2013 collaboration of Sue Nelson and Inna Lai, when a concert consisting entirely of Nelson's works was presented in Estonia.
