We are dismayed at the Supreme Court’s failure to hold Louisiana abortion facilities accountable for their violations of women’s health and safety in the decision issued today (June 29, 2020), June Medical Services v. Russo.
The Supreme Court has failed to hold abortion clinics in Louisiana to the same standard of care as every other surgical center in the state; in essence the Supreme Court has given a “pass” to abortion centers on health regulations.
Tragically, the abortion centers in Louisiana are now able to continue to ignore basic standards of care for the sake of profit. Women will be the ones to suffer this decision most. No abortion facility should be relieved of health oversight and regulations.
This decision will have serious real-world consequences, and the fight for women’s health and safety is not over. Instead—and with your help—March for Life will continue to fight back against the abortion industry and its power over our legislation.
This loss is a stark reminder of how important it is to support and vote for candidates who are pro-life, especially when considering Senatorial and Presidential candidates, as they directly affect who becomes a Supreme Court Justice.
One in five Americans who voted in the 2016 election said appointments to the Supreme Court was the primary reason for their vote; President Trump won a resounding 58 percent of those voters.
It is now more important than ever that we as pro-lifers do our research and VOTE PRO-LIFE.
