The Most Reverend Bishop has authorized a special collection to be taken up this weekend for Hurricane Harvey Disaster Relief that has devastated the Texan coastal towns. Our solidarity with our suffering brothers and sisters in their time of need is a powerful witness to the Gospel. I hasten add that the Catholics of the US were very generous to our Diocese after Hurricane Sandy. We received through the United States Catholic Conference of Bishops $670,000 for the Jersey Shore relief efforts.
Please be generous! A second collection will be taken up after the usual offertory at Saint Anthony, while at Our Lady of Sorrows, the customary green containers will be at the church doors.
