David Bird, a former parishioner and graduate of Our Lady of Sorrows School and Notre Dame High School, left his home in northern New Jersey for a walk on January 11, 2014. He never returned. Despite searches by hundreds of police and citizens, it was not until March 18 of this year that his body was found in the Passaic River near his home.
A graduate of Rider, he was an energy journalist and deputy managing editor of the Dow Jones Energy Service. Predeceased by his parents, Walter and Anna, and brothers Wally & Joseph, he is survived by his wife, Nancy Fleming Bird, their children Alexander and Natasha, his sisters, Maryann and Kathleen, his brother, Dennis, and many relatives and in-laws.
Please remember David and his family in your prayers.
