presents
"Parenting in the Social Media Age"
on March 7 at 7:00 pm
in the Parish Center.
Children and teens have more opportunities than ever before, yet studies find an epidemic of depression in today’s youth. A recent nationwide survey of college students found that nearly 30% reported being so depressed that it was difficult to function. Children can spend up to three times as much time with technology and phones as they do interacting in person with their parents and others.
How can parents better prepare their children for a rapidly changing world? What steps can parents take now to help foster a greater sense of happiness and self-efficacy in their children? All are welcome to attend a Positive Parenting Workshop with Dr. Sherry Kelly, a Clinical Neuropsychologist and Licensed Psychologist as she addresses the impact of technology and artificial intelligence on children, the concerns and challenges facing parents and students as they navigate the digital age, and the epidemic of unhappiness and anxiety in young people.
All are welcome regardless of school or church affiliation. The presentation is for adults only. Childcare will be available. Please RSVP at
