While Mass may still be celebrated, severe weather conditions may abrogate a person's obligation to assist at Mass on Sunday. Under such conditions,
one may be excused if it is too dangerous to venture outside for Mass. This decision can be made in good conscience and without the burden of guilt. People should use good judgement, exercise caution and prudence when making the decision to travel. In this case, the decision not to assist at Mass is not a matter for sacramental confession.
