Next weekend, August 16–17, our parish welcomes Fr. Joseph L. Eliscar, who will be speaking at all our Masses about the work of his community—the Missionaries of LaSalette. This is part of our diocesan missionary cooperation plan. Every Catholic should support, by prayers and sacrificial giving, the missionary apostolate of the Church.
The Missionaries of Our Lady of La Salette are deeply rooted in the apparition of Our Lady of La Salette which occurred near the hamlet of La Salette in southeastern Framce on Sept. 19, 1846. The Missionaries were founded in 1852 by Bp. Philbert de Bruillard, Bishop of Grenoble, France, and presently serve in some 25 countries. Please be generous.
