My letter last week addressed some of the ways we hope to address concerns about our music ministry in response to the recent parishioner surveys. Many suggested that our choir also have an opportunity to sing at St. Anthony Church. We have already implemented a plan to have the choir sing there on the last Saturday of the moth. This also provide Carl DiDonato and Rosemary LaMachia, the usual organist and cantor at Saint Anthony an opportunity to minister at Our Lady of Sorrows on those evenings.
I am delighted to share that we began this arrangement last week much to the delight of the 4:00 PM Mass congregation. In addition to the resounding spontaneous applause, many e-mailed the parish to express their delight and appreciation. They described the choir as being "wonderful," "uplifting," and "joyous."
This is a great encouragement to our choir and it is hoped that the choir will see increased growth in numbers and quality! Thanks to all in our music ministry as we look to ways to improve this important aspect of our worship.
