The Church’s liturgical norms provide that a parish’s patronal feast, having the rank of a Solemnity, may be celebrated during Ordinary Time on the Sunday closest to the feast. We are delighted to take advantage of this provision and the readings and texts of all Masses in our parish next weekend will be those of the Mass of Saint Anthony of Padua. In September, we shall also “invoke” this provision for the celebration of the feast of Our Lady of Sorrows.
