Oh sure, that's what the song says, but they really were last week at OLS Church, for the celebration of the opening of Catholic Schools Week Mass. The Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic School Select Choir, under the direction of our parish Music Director Michael Amantia, sounded like angels. The school Jazz Band, supported by Mr. Amantia on the piano, supplied the crazy beat. Our own OLS student body were together with their families for this very special Mass. Our parishioners were greeted by some very special sounds from above them as they entered the church. The school was lucky enough to secure an outstanding brass quintet, thanks to the generosity of a few parishioners. These gifts came to the school after Christmas with a note saying, "Do something special for the children." I could think of no more special event than the Catholic Schools Week Mass. We were so happy to share this time with all of you.
"When can I attend another Mass with beautiful music like this?" many said.
Well, we are certainly working on sharing our gifts with our parish community. We are now looking into buying choir robes for our young singers. We were able to enlist musicians from as far away as Doylestown, PA. We welcome your support of our Music program. Gifts can be forwarded to the school. The most humble of sincere donations are accepted, and they all can go together to build our program and bring more musical talents to our Sunday Masses. We were so happy to have shared our time with each of you.
Are you ready for our next special time together?
We love to share, and we have already planned for our next student supported gather. As you know, we celebrate the feast of St. Blaise along with the Blessing of the Throats. On Monday, February 3, our own First Grade class will host the short Prayer Service at 9:00 AM. Under the direction of their teacher, Mrs. Claire Slifko, the children have been practicing and learning about St. Blaise. Please try to join us as your parish school celebrates and remembers St. Blaise.
Open House was wonderful, but remember at OLS "Everyday is Open House!"
Don't delay, our classes are filling quickly and you wouldn't want your children on the waitlist. Drop in at anytime. Call us to learn more about our wonderful school. OLS students make a difference! We have select Middle School openings. Your child can grow and mature as a middle schooler in a safe, nurturing, and faith-based environment. Our scholarship programs allow the opportunity of a private Catholic School education to be possible for every child. Don't wonder, find out. Come by to see us. We love to share.

PS. OLS is planning a school-sponsored trip to see Cinderella the Musical on May 26 in NYC. We have a few seats left. Call us; check it out. A fun way to try us on for size!
