Learning Can Be Fun! Taught by volunteer Guy D’Ippolito, an English as a Second Language (ESL) class is held at Our Lady of Sorrows at 6:00 pm on Thursdays October through June. The students work very hard on developing strong vocabulary, pronunciation, listening, and reading comprehension skills. Some topics they have covered include accent reduction, American currency, present and past tense of common verbs, contractions, possessive adjectives, American slang and idioms, numbers, daily routines, parts of the house, and household chores. Bingo is very popular among the students—they have lots of fun as they learn new vocabulary and compete for delicious prizes!
Many thanks to Guy for his enthusiastic sharing of his time, talent, and treasure with our Haitian brothers and sisters. And congratulations to his students for continuing their lifelong educational journey!
There is no fee for the class. For information about the class schedule, please contact the parish office (609-587-4372;
