Going from Senior to Junior

That’s what Emily Jaruszewski is doing. The daughter of Deacon Joe and his wife Deborah, Emily graduated from Mercer County Technical Schools’ Health Science Academy in June. But since she also earned an associate degree (from Mercer County Community College) a month earlier, she’s entering college with enough credits to be considered halfway through her junior year. Emily’s been accepted by Smith College in Massachusetts, where she is one of about fifty incoming students named to the college’s STRIDE program, which comes with a $20,000/annum scholarship and a paid research position with a Smith College professor.
