Blessing of Pets

This custom, conducted in remembrance of St. Francis of Assisi's love for all creatures, will take place at 6 PM on Monday, October 4. All parishioners are invited to bring their pets to the Peace Garden at Our Lady of Sorrows church (outside, to the left of the Lower Church Hall doors) for this special blessing.

In case of rain, the blessing will be held on Wednesday, October 5, at 6 PM.

As Fr. Kevin E. Mackin, O.F.M., expressed, "The love we give to a pet, and receive from a pet, can draw us into the larger circle of life, into the wonder of our common relationship to our creator."
