Abortion Myth #3: Most Women Support Abortion.

It’s only grudgingly that networks or newspapers seek out and promote the views of women who believe that abortion does great harm to both women and society. But the truth is very different from the myth that an overwhelming number of women support abortion rights. A 2021 NBC poll revealed that 59% of women believe that abortion should remain legal (although many of these support various limits on abortion), and 38% believe it should be illegal. While there are differences in education levels, class, and race demographics, it’s rather clear that over a third of American women do not support abortion rights, and that most American women favor limits on abortion.
