Celebrating Our Parish School
From January 31 to February 4, we celebrated Catholic Schools Week—a time when we focus on the contributions and impact Catholic schools have on our nation. The theme of “Faith, Excellence, Service” was evident throughout the week’s activities. The students began the week with a service project for the homeless in our area. Over 1,000 pairs of socks were donated by OLS families; these were filled with snacks and handwritten prayer cards and were given to the Trenton Salvation Army for distribution.
Students attended Adoration, First Friday mass, participated in a spelling bee, played virtual Bingo, wrote notes of thanks to our US Troops, had a “movie and popcorn” afternoon, and created Valentines for local first responders. The PTA sponsored a night of ice skating at Mercer County Park, as well as a family dine out night at Red Robin. We even had a visit and a treat from Monsignor Gervasio to end our week. Even during a pandemic we enjoyed the joy of being in a Catholic school. It was a wonderful week to celebrate the impact we make locally as well as nationally, whether through our commitment of service to others, our academic excellence, or the formation and practice of our faith. Check out the photo album at left for photos of these events.
This week begins the registration process for the 2022-2023 school year. If you have a child ready for Pre K 3 through 8th grade and you are looking for a Catholic education (or you know someone who does), now is the time to register. Please stop by the school office to pick up a packet or check our website at www.olsschool.us for more information. Private tours are available after school hours, so please call 609-587-4140 if you would like to visit us.
You are always in our prayers, and we are grateful for the support you provide to our school, whether financially or through your prayers. Be well!
Mrs. Maureen Tuohy,
Principal
