Reception of the Rose Torch of Our Lady of Guadalupe
Sunday -- November 11 11:00 am Mass
Our diocese is continuing the tradition of honoring Our Lady of Guadalupe, Patroness of the Americas and of the Unborn, with the pilgrimage of torches throughout our four counties. At the Co-Cathedral of St. Robert Bellarmine, Bishop O’Connell blessed the parish torches—there are many named for the apparition at Guadalupe: Tilma; Tepeyac; Miracle; Apparition; Rose; and Image. These will be formally received at the participating parishes and placed in the church as a vivid reminder of Our Lady’s maternal presence and her call to prayer.
Our parish will receive the “Rose Torch” at the beginning of the 11:00 am Mass, on Sunday, November 11. It will remain at the Shrine of Our Lady for the week as the Diocese prepares for the great procession through Trenton on Saturday, December 1
. The celebration will culminate with a festive Mass at the Cathedral of St. Mary in Trenton at noon.
The procession sets out from Immaculate Conception Church at 8:30 am (coffee and traditional bread offered). Stops will be made at St. Anthony’s Church and St. Joseph’s Church before arriving at the Cathedral. Shuttle buses will be going to and from the Cathedral from 7:00 am through 4:30 pm.
