The Living Faith group of Our Lady of Sorrows – St. Anthony parish is offering a Continuing Adult Religious Education Program, which seeks to provide comprehensive, systematic lessons on a range of Catholic topics through discussions and lectures.
Continuing catechesis is incredibly important, because the Church's mission—OUR mission—is to evangelize. C.A.R.E. aims to communicate the Church's teachings and apply them to our daily life and to our reception of the sacraments, so that those experiences are not reduced to a hollow ritualism. Knowing and living the Catholic faith is a lifelong endeavor. C.A.R.E. can be the vehicle to take us on the journey to a stronger faith through discussion and fellowship with fellow Catholics.
The parish C.A.R.E. Program will meet on the last Wednesday of every month, from September through May in the church meeting room at 7 pm, and will provide comprehensive lessons on a range of topics.
As this is the first year this program is being offered, it seems a good idea is to go over the basics, or rather where to find a comprehensive summary of Church doctrine, dogma, and tradition. This year’s topic will be the Catechism of the Catholic Church, with the first lesson offering an introduction to both the program and the Catechism itself.
