Catholic saints are holy people and human people who lived extraordinary lives. Each saint the Church honors responded to God's invitation to use his or her unique gifts. God calls each one of us to be a saint.
You will find pages on some of the saints listed in the menu to the left. As Catholics, we understand that we can pray to the saints asking for their intercession with God. Usually, each saint has a particular area of patronage, such as St. Rita of Cascia is a patron of Christian mothers, and "the saint of the impossible." As fellow humans who have proven through various miracles that they are already with God, saints can not only be an inspiration for us, but can understand our problems, as they have dealt with the same problems successfully before they died.
